RYA centre Spain facilities

This RYA approved training centre in addition to the normal sailing school classroom equipment, is equipped with an integrated suite of vessel navigation electronics including gps, chartplotter and autopilot. There are also pc based electronic chart plotting systems and radar and DSC radio simulators.

Fully functioning DSC training radios allow pupils to practice full 2 way communication without illegally transmitting to the outside world.

Representative diesel engines are also available to allow pupil to participate in maintenance and fault finding but without getting their hands dirty.

One of the benefits of learning this way is that the equipment is switched on all day every day for the duration of the course and available for anyone to use outside classroom hours. This is probably a very good way of getting familiar with the equipment under no pressure and with support available if help is required.
